How to submit your work:

Thank you for your interest in submitting to Colectivo Tabú. We publish quarterly, and though we especially welcome submissions that follow the upcoming issue’s theme, all submissions are encouraged.

Submissions for Issue 004, “Odes,” are currently OPEN.

The deadline to submit is January 15, 2024.

  • Colectivo Tabú is delighted to announce the theme for the Spring ‘24 Issue, “Odes.

Odes are traditionally known for being lyrical celebrations of a place, person, thing, idea, event, or emotion. They can take something as effortlessly occurring as dew on a blade of grass, and honor it as one would a victory. They can give shape to intangible miracles, give us new ways to look at the worlds around us and within us and lead us toward unexpected revelations. They can be meditative just as much as they can be ridiculous, and witty.

We are looking for pieces that, in their own way, interact with the ode genre. Works that are focused, sharp, cunning — unafraid to placate themselves in their stance. Whether that be in a poem, in prose, a conversation, or visual art.

This issue hopes to entwine works that center themselves around personal landscapes, ideological infrastructures, romanticism, and exploration to honor the more porous boundaries of contemporary odes.

SUBMISSIONS CLOSE ON JANUARY 15, 2024.
